It works as an entry point but considering it's his newest album I feel like an earlier one would be better to enter with. It's great, but imo it feels kinda like he's coasting on a lot of it - there's not much that's unique or deeply developed on it. My personal favorite, but maybe not the best entry point.ĭAMN.: Very accessible beats are fairly experimental but still very much radio-friendly. It's his most poetic and unique album for sure, and it's also his longest. It's not the most accessible album, but some tracks - like Alright - are pretty accessible. Beats are very experimental but fantastic they're really jazzy too. TPAB: His most mature and well developed album imo. Probably his easiest album to get into and enjoy. There's still bangers and accessible tracks on here but there's more long-form 'poetic' tracks and stuff, too. GKMC: He's very mature here the beats are fairly traditional, like Section.80, but they're stronger and better developed. More inconsistent than his later albums but it's also probably his most fun album. It's also pretty accessible - the beats are fairly basic, but still good. Section.80: He hasn't fully matured here but there's still a lot of 'conscious' themes about life in it. What kind of hip hop or other music do you like? Each album's style is fairly unique, so it'll depend on your taste which is easiest to get into.
